I am trained in Transactional Analysis which for me emphasises that each and every one of us is intrinsically good, of worth and are looking to improve our lives; we all have the capacity to think for ourselves and we all have the power to change and grow, with a focus on exploring and embracing new possibilities.
I have a contractual approach to therapy which I believe enables us to work together towards your goals of change and growth. This approach allows us to focus on what you want to explore and also facilitates open and honest communication between us: ourrelationship being an important part of our shared journey together in therapy.
Alongside my Private Practice, I continue to work in my role as a Volunteer Counsellor at West Kent Mind. I am also part of the therapeutic team working with groups at Kenward Trust – a local alcohol and drug rehabilitation centre. In the past I worked for several years as a Volunteer Bereavement Counsellor at Hospice in the Weald. This broad experience enables me to work with a wide range of clients with varying presentations and life experiences. I have a particular interest in working with stress and anxiety, depression, trauma and bereavement and loss.
In addition, my own personal life experience including working in small businesses and larger corporates, alongside being part of and raising a family provides me with an understanding of the day to day issues life may present us with.
